Please allow me to welcome
you all to the first Underground
Infrastructure Middle East. I
am sure that the conference
and exhibition is going to be of
great benefit to the whole
region.
The transportation infrastructure and supply and
discharge systems such as sewer, water and
gas networks form the backbone for the
functionality of cities. The quality of the
management, planning, construction, operation
and maintenance of these infrastructures,
particularly their adaptability to constantly
changing user behaviour, but also to the
constant growth of population, has become a
commanding competitive factor in the Arab
World and other fast growing economies in the
whole world.
The Underground Infrastructure Middle East
Conference and Exhibition provides a platform
for regional and international government
bodies, authorities, construction and maintenance companies, service providers and
component manufacturers to change their
experiences and to set the basis for the
implementation of new projects. |
The conference program with internationally
renown speakers is being compiled by EITEP, the
Euro Institute for Information and Technology
Transfer in Environmental Protection in cooperation
with BSE, the Bahrain Society of
Engineers. It will cover all the relevant technical
and managerial aspects of underground
infrastructure activities – from new installations,
utility tunnelling and pipe and sewer rehabilitation
to human resources development, asset
management and standards and regulations.
The Ministry of Works is proud to patron
Underground Infrastructure Middle East and we
look forward to welcome our GCC colleagues
from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates,
Kuwait and Oman as well as the whole
international underground infrastructure
community to the Kingdom of Bahrain from
18-19 January 2010.
